Looking for quick, gourmet-quality lunches? One Lunch is the app that helps restaurants deliver food to on-site workers and schools with tight lunch schedules. The app allows individuals to opt into a flexible, commitment-free lunch program. Created for the Neepawa, Manitoba Boston Pizza franchise, the founder of One Lunch approached us to build a brand identity that reflects them as accessible, fresh, and unconventional. The key was ensuring this new identity worked seamlessly across their new app interface.

Our creative direction, ‘The Casual Luncher,’ celebrates the brand’s down-to-earth, communal, and convenient nature. The logo features a delightful custom typeface paired with an icon that embodies One Lunch’s three key vibes: fresh and organic meals, made with care, and easily accessible with a one-click opt-in. The illustrations are created from hand-drawn and organic shapes, and the color palette is inspired by Boston Pizza’s hearty menu. We use vibrant yet natural colors to help customers focus on the main order of business: good food.

Framing it Together
We shaped messaging that celebrates the contradictory nature of One-Lunch: quick but gourmet-quality, hearty but healthy, personalized but communal. Customers no longer have to choose—they can have it all with One Lunch. We emphasized that customers could enjoy fresh meals wherever they are. No more traveling, no more waiting in line, no more rushing through lunch. Just opt in and eat in!
Refined Aesthetics
Collaborating with NexarCore, we designed a user-friendly app with features that allow customers to select their lunch dates and meal options, and handle payment and checkout. We incorporated One Lunch’s playful identity into the app with quirky headlines, stickers, and warm photos. The One Lunch app will be available in the App Store and Google Play in September 2024.
